Parish church, dedicated to San Bartolomeo, is situated in the center of the village, in “Martiri della Libertà” square. Already mentioned in 1225, the structure originally had three aisles.Today is a baroque building of the second half of the seventeenth century. The stately facade is richly decorated in nineteenth-century brick and is preceded by a “portico” surmounted by a pediment tetrastyl. Beside the church stands a Gothic tower. Inside you can admire the frescoes and paintings by Morazzone, dated 1611-1612 and 1610-1619, and a remarkable triptych, dating back to 1566, attributed to the painters John Rapa and Jerome Varotti. There’s also the splendid wooden altar, seventeenth century, created the sculptor Antonio Pini. Facing the church in the square stands a stone statue that represents the Immaculate, dating from the eighteenth century, commissioned by the Marquis Don Gabriele of the Este.
The oratory, dedicated to St. Nicholas, is located northeast of Borgomanero along the highway to Arona, near Sant Michele hill. Baraggiola (or Barazzola) is very ancient: it was named “curtis regia” in the 962, when it was donated by Ottone I of Sassonia to Sant Giulio church. The small chapel has a single nave with a semicircular apse, and gabled facade. Its construction could date back to the late tenth or early eleventh century, because of the material used to built it. The two square windows near the front door were opened by the bishop Bascape during a pastoral visit. There ia a semicircular apse enriched by five groups of large irregular hanging arches joined in pairs. The early Romanesque brick building is composed by a river pebbles, stone quarries and brick fragments. Besides, on the south side, stands the bell tower with a single light slit.
The chapel situated outside town center, is the oldest church in the village of Sant Leonardo. After the union with "Burgi Mayneri" born the modern city during the twelfth century. The chapel has a nave with a semicircular apse, the gabled facade, the front door is topped by a bezel, above which opens a luminous cross. On the façade the are large square stones, while in the walls appear river stones arranged in an irregular way with a few herringbone. Frescoes that adorn the interior of the building are very interesting: there’s the Christ with the symbols of the four Evangelists. Than there are depicted the twelve Apostles, unfortunately poorly preserved: it is also considered to be attributable to the so-called Master of Angera and local workers.
The castle is in a panoramic position in Vergano. Of the original building, commissioned by Tornielli in the thirteenth century, remains something in the area facing the country. The most significant part of the ancient fortress is the fifteenth-century square tower, with traces of the drawbridge that allowed access.
Mill Resig stands near Agogna River. The building was restored from the fifteenth to the seventeenth century. Inside there are three rooms still decorated with paintings of the first half of the seventeenth century.
In the centre of Borgomanero, Villa Marrazza was built in XIX century but it has the characteristic features of a private house of 1700. The main building with three floors, features an enclosed porch with three arches and a loggia on the second floor also tripartite, is flanked by two other buildings on two floors. Elegant iron balconies enrich the first floor of the same face. Some interior rooms are still decorated with wooden ceilings and elegant marble fireplaces, furniture and shelves of fine workmanship. In the building there is Foundation Achille Marazza. Achille, lawyer and politician, left family property to the City of Borgomanero, so that "the house was used as a seat of a public library and Culture House ...". The library has a huge wealth of books, prints, documents, parchments, incunabula and medals, dating back to 1500. Outside there’s a big park rich of trees.
