La parrocchiale dedicata a Sant'Eusebio e ai Santi Maccabei (fratelli martiri dell'antica Giudea) sorge nel centro dell'abitato. Originariamente di piccole dimensioni, la chiesa sub" continui ampliamenti, il primo (e il più importante) nel 1567, quando la chiesa ottenne il permesso da San Carlo Borromeo di rendersi indipendente da Nebbiuno. La parrocchiale ora si presenta in forme secentesche. La facciata è preceduta da un piccolo pronao aggiunto nel 1767, con vano nella parte alta ove è collocato l'organo, e recentemente è stato recuperato un affresco secentesco raffigurante le tre Virtù Teologali. L'interno si presenta a croce latina, a navata unica con tre cappelle. Ultimamente, in occasione di scavi, sono venuti alla luce i resti dell'antico oratorio sotto l'androne del campanile. All'interno dell'edificio sono visibili porzioni di affreschi risalenti al XIII e al XIV secolo, attribuibili a un artista che si è formato alla bottega di Oropa. Numerose sono le decorazioni, risalenti a diverse epoche, che abbelliscono questa chiesa.

 

The parish church dedicated to St Eusebio and to the Maccabee Saints (brothers who suffered martyrdom in ancient Judaed) stands in the town center. The original small building was repeatedly enlarged; the first and substantial enlargement was carried out in 1567 after the church became independent from Nebbiuno, as authorized by St Charles Borromeo. Today the building has 17th-century features. The façade is preceded by a small pronaos, an addition from 1767, with an upper elevation corresponding to the balcony for the organ on the interior; a 17th-century fresco depicting the three Theological Virtues has been recently restored. The interior has a Latin-cross plan, with a single nave and three chapels. Some recent excavations have discovered the remains of an ancient oratory under the atrium of the bell tower. The interior contains fragments of 13th and 14th century frescoes, probably painted by an artist from the school of Oropa. The church is emebellished by notable decorations from different periods.

L'oratorio dedicato alla Madonna dei Sette Dolori e delle Sette Allegrezze sorge fuori dall'abitato, in prossimità di un ruscello chiamato Rio della Madonna, lungo la strada che conduce a Ghevio. Della originaria struttura cinquecentesca è rimasto solo poco più di un frammento di affresco, risalente al 1511, posto sulla parete di fondo raffigurante la Vergine in trono con Bambino, nella cui mano è posato un uccellino. In origine si presentava come una piccola cappella con due panche di pietra poste all'ingresso per far sì che i pellegrini potessero sostare in preghiera. Ora, in seguito ai lavori di ampliamento eseguiti nel 1656 e nel 1904, la cappella si presenta in forme barocche e settecentesche. Bella la volta, affrescata nel 1657 e raffigurante un coro di angeli con cartigli sui quali sono espressi temi relativi ai dolori e alle allegrezze; al centro è la figura della Madonna.

 

The oratory dedicated to the Madonna dei sette dolori e delle sette allegrezze, stands a short distance from the town, near a small watercourse called Rio dela Madonna, along the road leading to Ghevio. From the original 16th century building only a fragment of a fresco on the back wall survives; this dates from 1511 and represents the Virgin Enthroned with the child, with a tiny bird resting on his hand. The church was originally a small chapel with two stone benches at the entrance, where the pilgrims could rest and pray. Enlargements and alterations carried out in 1656 and in 1904 have resulted in the Baroque appearance of the church. The beautiful vault is decorated with a fresco (from 1657) representing a Madonna encircled by a choir of angels holding scrolls with inscription on joys and sorrows.

Pisano è ricca di cappelle devozionali. Fra le più antiche si segnala quella situata in un'antica cascina lungo la statale del Vergante: nell'affresco è rappresentata la Madonna con Bambino benedicente, incoronata da due angeli. Un'altra, risalente al XVII secolo, è collocata in centro, all'angolo di Via della Fontana con Via Umberto I, e in essa si raffigura la Madonna di Loreto, riccamente abbigliata, con in braccio il Bambino che impartisce la benedizione con la mano destra, mentre nella sinistra è collocata la sfera, simbolo di dominio e supremazia della Chiesa.

 

Pisano has many devotional chapels. The most ancient and notable is the chapel standing inside an old farming estate, along the main road to the Vergante: this chapel has a fresco depicting a Madonna with Blessing child, coronated by two angels. At the intersection of Della Fontana street and Umberto I street stand another chapel, from the 17th century. It features a richly clad Madonna of Loreto with Child; the Child is offering benediction with his right hand, and holding a sphere in his left, the symbol of the power and supremacy of the church.

Tra i numerosi elementi in pietra, pilastrini, spigoli e portali, che costellano un po' tutto il paese, degno di nota è il portoncino in pietra di Piazza Tocco, 6 che risale al XII e al XIV secolo. L'architrave a forma di timpano appare, purtroppo, semilunato in seguito a una non corretta ristrutturazione.

 

Several interesting stone elements (small pillars, portals and quoins) are scattered throughout the town. A remarkable one is the small stone portal at n. 6 of Tocco square. Unfortunately, an bad restoration has coverted the pediment into a rounded arch.
